A/V Control systems are NOT great. While they allow you to manage all audiovisual equipment, lights, curtains, and even ambient temperature from a single control unit, they do not allow control over multiple locations or entire buildings and precincts. Traditional systems never give you control over the content that is displayed. These conventional A/V Control solutions are typically closed, hardware-based systems, which makes them cumbersome and inflexible; the lack of content control usually makes them irrelevant to the end-user, requiring technical support just to display something simple like a PowerPoint presentation. Setting up such a conventional system requires a lot of programming and installation effort. With CSI’s JarvizIoE solution, this is all a thing of the past.
An IP-based software solution, Jarviz-IoE can be connected to the company’s standard IP network. To add a network-enabled device (projector, display, audio system, blinds, retractable projector screen, …), simply connect it to the network and configure Jarviz-IoE controls with a web-based UX. Launch the Jarviz-IoE App and that’s it. Jarviz-IoE can work with any device from any brand (as long as the protocol is available). Furthermore, the software follows a natural and logical way of working, with user-friendly interfaces, which means that every staff member can handle system set-up, configuration and maintenance. We do the install and then put your end-users in control of the rest.
Managed from a single location
Jarviz-IoE is a centralized system. So, only one server is required per company – even when it operates in multiple locations around the world. In each location, software on a simple computer handles local configuration and the App is the user front-end that knows what to give you based on the SSID of the local network. By adding alerts, the support team can be warned when certain events occur – an overheating projector, for example – so they can take immediate action. And because Jarviz-IoE monitors AV equipment centrally, the technical staff can troubleshoot and correct issues for the entire company remotely, using Jarviz-IoE’s Help Desk interface − significantly reducing time-to-solution and eliminating in-room interventions.
As it is completely HTML 5-based, the in-room user interface, which is used to control all the connected devices in a meeting room, building or precinct, can be deployed on any device that has a network connection. This eliminates the need for expensive proprietary controllers and touch panels. Furthermore, because the system is configured, rather than programmed, the user interface looks and behaves exactly the same way in every meeting room, in every location, optimizing the user experience.
Content as well as A/V control
Jarviz-IoE is web based, so it’s everywhere there is a web browser and can be activated via mobile apps that live in your pocket. Jarviz-IoE operates across an IP based network and allows the user interface to be accessed across every computer & BYOD device in the organisation, through any browser. Jarviz allows control of any other object that can be assigned an IP address and provided with the ability to transfer data over a network.
The main use of Jarviz-IoE in the CSI developed collaboration systems is for application and content launching across any computer attached to massive, high resolution displays. The apps range from applications for visualisation of database content to simple presentations and a URL. This merely scratches the surface of what Jarviz is ultimately capable of, as anything with an IP address and command protocols can be scripted into Jarviz-IoE for local or remote network control.
